Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the government should have been vocal against the inhuman torture on the minority Muslims in Myanmar.
“The evicted Rohingya people could have been helped by giving them shelter in Bangladesh. They could have been sent back to their own country later through diplomatic efforts,” he added.
The BNP leader said an unprecedented persecution of Muslims in Myanmar’s northern state Rakhine continues. “Indiscriminate genocide an ethnic cleansing of the Rohingya People is going on there. The minority Muslims of the sate have got bewildered due to the brutality by the Myanmar government forces.” Fakhrul said the viciousness and repression by Myanmar army, police and border guards on the Muslims have broken all the previous records. “The Muslim Rohingya people are being burnt alive cruelly by torching their houses. Women and children are being raped as a horrendous situation has been prevailing there. The overall situation suggests that the Muslims should not have any human right,” he observed.
Strongly denouncing the protesting the continued repression on Muslims by Myanmar forces, the BNP leader demanded the government of that country immediately stop such ethnic cleansing of the Rohingya people.
