Court Correspondent :
A Dhaka court yesterday (Tuesday) placed BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on a fresh remand for five days in a case filed on the charge of torching of another bus. He was earlier questioned for three days in another case filed with Paltan Police Station for vandalising a car.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Emdadul Haque passed the remand order after Detective Branch of police produced Mirza Fakhrul in the court on Tuesday with a 10-day remand prayer. This case was filed on the charge of torching a vehicle on January 4 in front of AGB Colony. Sub-Inspector Anwar Hossain Khan sought the remand to quiz the BNP leader. The court also rejected Fakhrul’s bail plea.
Fakhrul was among top BNP leaders accused in the case filed in connection with torching the car belonging to an army officer.
