BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday met Gano Forum President and prominent lawyer Dr. Kamal Hossain.
Sources of both side said, they discussed about legal matters of BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s cases and the current political situation.
Mirza Fakhrul went to Dr. Kamal’s chamber at Motijheel around 11am. Khaleda Zia’s lawyer Abdur Rezak Khan was with him. Dr. Kamal was accompanied by Subrata Chowdhury a lawyer and Gano Forum presidium member.
BNP leaders close to Mirza Fakhrul said the result of the discussion was positive.
One of them said that Dr. Kamal had given important advices to Khaleda Zia’s lawyer Abdur Rezak Khan regard her cases.
Apart from these, Mirza Fakhrul and Dr. Kamal also discussed about the political situation in the country.
But they were not clear as to whether Dr. Kamal agreed to start agitation with BNP for an inclusive election.
On the other hand, Subrata Chowdhury told journalists that the BNP Secretary General requested Dr. Kamal to plead in the court for Khaleda Zia. But Dr. Kamal did not accept the proposal saying he did not practice such category of cases. He said also that was not regular in court for long.
Earlier, on Sunday night Mirza Fakhrul made a phone call with Dr. Kamal to meet him in person. But Dr. Kamal said he was going out of the country briefly.
He asked the BNP leader to meet him after returning to the country.
