The Special Tribunal-13 of Dhaka on Monday granted bail to BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in a case filed with Paltan Police Station of the capital under the Explosive Substances Act.
Judge Manjur Quader of the tribunal granted bail to the BNP leader after he surrendered to the court with a bail petition. The court also fixed January 17, 2016 to frame charge against the accused Mirza Fakhrul among others.
On December 9, 2012, SI Abu Taher of Paltan Police Station filed the case in connection with cocktail explosion in front of Hotel Capital of Paltan VIP Road. Later, on July 28, last year, SI Abu Zafar of the police station submitted the charge sheet against 74 people including Mirza Fakhrul.
