A Dhaka court on Sunday took into cognizance of the chargesheet of a case filed against BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and seven others for killing a police personnel.
Magistrate Khorshed Alam accepted the chargesheet of the case filed with Ramna Model Police Station for killing a member of police, torching his vehicle on June 12. Besides, the chargesheet of the case filed under Explosive Substances Act was sent to the Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka
for trial. Magistrate Khorshed Alam of the CMM Court took cognizance of the chargesheet of the case (No.42(12)13) and issued arrest warrant against a fugitive of the case. Besides, another chargesheet of the case under Explosive Substances Act was sent to the Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka for trial.
Earlier in December, 2013, a police official was killed as the accused torched a police van in Bangla Motor area of the city during a BNP-enforced countrywide indefinite strike and blockade.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul was made “Hukumer Ashami” (Order giver) in the case.
