Police on Tuesday pressed charges against 43 leaders and activists of the then 19-party alliance, including BNP
secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, in a case filed with Paltan Police Station in 2014.
Sub-inspector of the police station Tabibur Rahman submitted two charge-sheets-one for torching vehicles and the other under the Explosive Substances Act-to
SI Jalal Uddin, general recording officer of the Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court. SI Tabibur Rahman, also investigation officer of the case, also filed a petition with the court seeking warrants for the arrest of 30 alliance leaders, including Barrister Rafiqul Islam Miah, Barkatullah Bulu, Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel, Sharafat Ali Shafu and Sultan Salauddin Tuku.
