A mobile court on Thursday raided a factory making Bonoful Lachcha Semai at Amshar Ali in Chayani village of Rasulpur union in Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh and imposed a fine of Tk 40,000.
UNO and Executive Magistrate Md. Abidur Rahman conducted the court with the full cooperation of Gafargaon Police.
Mobile court sources said, the last two years in the area. Shariful Islam, Md. Kajal and Ataur Rahman jointly established the lachcha semai factory. The factory owner and workers fled after sensing the presence of a mobile court on Thursday afternoon. They later met the executive magistrate but were fined Tk 40,000 by a mobile court for making fake, dirty, unhealthy and adulterated semai. Gafargaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Farooq Ahmed and local journalists were present on the occasion. UNO and Executive Magistrate Md. Abidur Rahman said that such campaigns will continue to ensure safe food.
