Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a fake member of National Security Intelligence (NSI) and a fake human rights activist from Ghorastand in Sadar upazila early Wednesday. The arrestees were identified as Rasel Zahan, 29, son of Boro Jahan of Natun Islampur Nimtala in the district town, and Istiak Ahmed, 23, son of Imtiaj Ahmed of Chaklampur Mia Para of Sadar upazila.
Commander of Chapainawabganj Rab-5 camp Major Kamruzzaman Pavel in a press briefing on Wednesday said they had secret information that the two men had been cheating people, identifying themselves as NSI, DB and CID member and human rights activist respectively for long.
They also demanded toll from local people in Ghorastand area of the upazila on Tuesday noon.
