The Detective Branch (DB) of police in a drive seized fake notes around Tk 35 lakh from the city’s Boro Maghbazar on Friday night. The law enforcers also arrested five members of a gang in this connection.
They are Monir, leader of the gang, and his accomplices Yakub, Rubel, Sahabuddin and Nazmul.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Deputy Commissioner Masudur Rahman said that a special team of DB conducted drive at a house of Boro Maghbazar and seized a
large quantity of papers used to print fake notes.
They also recovered security ropes, a desktop computer, four laptops, three printers and other materials, the police official said.
A case has been filed in this connection, the DC said.
