A fake medicine factory was unearthed by mobile court from Shaheed Nagar (Khandar area) of Bogra town recently while the manager along with his employee were preparing fake medicine in an unhealthy and unhygienic state in name of herbal (Auyrbedi) medicine.
Police said, following the drive the mobile court led by upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) of sadar upazila of Bogra and executive magistrate Abdur Rahim with law-enforcers and health inspector of Bogra municipality seized huge amount of fake vitamin and cough medicine from the possession of the Manager and sealed the factory instantly.
Police said that the arrestee manager was identified as Mizanur Rahman, 40, son of Haidar Ali Pramanik of New Sonatola of Sariakandi upazila in the district living in a rented house of the area of Bogra town where the fake medicine factory located.
Police also added that the arrestee had been preparing and selling fake herbal medicine in the name of “Liberate Laboratories Bangladesh” in a rental house of the area without having any chemist but with some women.
Factory Manger claimed that he had legal papers for preparing herbal medicine and refuted on the charge of making fake medicine.
Contacted, UNO of Sadar Upazila Abdur Rahim said that the manager could not show and later he was jailed by one year and fined TK. 50 thousand and three months more jail if unpaid.
