A team of Rapid Action Battalion Unit-8 arrested one person named Nowsher Ali Bitu, 47, from New Radhuni Hotel and Birwani House at Fakir Bari Road of the city for giving threat identifying himself as a Major ranked official of Armed Forces on early Monday.
One mobile phone set with two SIM bearing numbers as 01711-237665 and 01919-237665 were recovered from his possession. A press note issued by RAB-8 said in interrogation, the arrestee acknowledged that identifying himself as Major Shafiq of armed forces he threatened one Luthfar Rahman of Vatikhana Jor Masjid area over that mobile phone.
The accused was handed over to police lodging a case by Muhammad Ali Hussain, deputy assistant director of RAB-8 as complainant, said Shah Md. Awalad Hossain, Kotwali police station officer in charge.
