Two (02) fake journalists were arrested by the police from Mukkhait area within Gotapara Union Parishad under Sadar Upazila in Bagerhat district on Wednesday morning on the charge of extortion of money.
The fake journalists (extortionists) are Md. Fazlul Haq (60) and Md. Baradul Islam (45). In the morning Md. Fazlul Haq and Md. Baradul Islam went to Belayet Hossain Dakhil Madrasa at Mukkhait, identified themselves as the editor and photo journalist of the weekly Aporadhbichitra respectively and demanded money as extortion from Abul Hannan, a teacher of the Madrasa.
Then they locals caught them and called telephone No, 999. After receiving the call a squad of police rushed to the spot from Bagerhat Sadar Model PS and arrested the 2 fake journalists (extortionists). Arrested Md. Fazlul Haq is the son of one Samali Gazi, of Labanchara area in Khulna district and Md. Baradul Islam is the son of one Dara Khan of village Charkathi under Kachua Upazila in Bagerhat district,
KM Azizul Islam, Officer-in-charge of Bagerhat Sadar Model PS told, after receiving the call from phone No.999 police rushed to the spot and arrested the fake journalists and a case was already lodged with the PS against them in connection with the incident.
