Tipu Miah alias Mominul Haque, who impersonated as an Inspector General of Police (IGP), was arrested by DMP police in city’s Purana Paltan area on Wednesday
Police sources said that Tipu used to cheat the general people as well as many institutions in the name of social works.
On July 31, a DB team of DMP conducted a raid in Purana Palton area under a hidden source and arrested Tipu in this connection. A case was filed at Paltan Police Station against him.
In the preliminary interrogation, Tipu gave confessional statements that he used to cheat with various institutions ahead of several national occasion, Additional Commissioner of DMP Abdul Baten said this during a press briefing at DMP Media Centre.
