A mobile court of Kishoreganj District Administration sentenced a fake doctor to one year imprisonment at Kalibari Moor (Station Road) in Kishoreganj town on Thursday noon.
On secret information, District Administration in a special drive led by ADC (Gen) and Executive Magistrate Tarafder Md. Akther Jamil with Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Habibur Rahman, a team of police and Answer Battalion raided the Medi Plus Health Care, a diagnostic centre of Kishoreganj town and arrested fake doctor Subrata Debnath.
During interrogation, Subrata revealed that he has been giving treatment to patients in the clinic as a specialist physician, posing as Dr. Subrata Debnath (MBBS, DU), CCD (BIRDEM), D-CARD (DU), FCPS (MEDICINE).
The Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gen) and Executive Magistrate Tarafder Md. Akther Jamil punished him under Section 28 (1) of the Medical and Dental Council Act 2010.
The magistrate told that he has long been cheating people on his fake titles. He introduced himself as a specialist physician to cheat ailing people.
