Rab said on Thirsday that they arrested a fake doctor and sealed off his so-called diagnostic centre. The arrestee was identified as Md Kamaruzzaman, director of Arafat Hospital and Diagnostic centre in Rupsha of Khulna.
Besides, two of his associates identified as Abdur Rahman (34) and Md. Alam Moral (52) were also fined.
The mobile court Khulna District Administration Executive Magistrate Ghalib Mahmud Pasha sentenced Kamaruzzaman to one year and 10 months of imprisonment and fined him Tk one lac.
On the other hand, the other two were fined Tk 10,000 each and were later released upon payment.
RAB captain Lt. Colonel Mostaq Ahmed, the man who led the drive confirmed the information to UNB on Thursday.
“Upon receiving complaints by patients, a Rab team along with the magistrate conducted a drive at the hospital and found out that it wasn’t permitted to operate. Besides, the so-called doctor even failed to provide us his license or any proof of him being a doctor,” he said.
