A fake doctor and owner of illegal clinic sent to jail on Thursday for allegedly molesting a female attendant of a patient at Satla under Wazirpur upazila of Barishal.
The accused fake doctor was identified as Rezaul Karim, owner of Mayer Doa Clinic at Satla.
Ziaul Hasan, officer in charge of Wazirpur police station said the victim was 25-years old woman and attendant of her 40-year old sister of Rajoir upazila under Madaripur district was admitted the clinic suffering from neck and throat pain and infection.
The victim field an attempt to rape case with this police station and police arrested the accused on early Thursday and sent to Barishal court.
The court rejecting his bail prayer ordered to send him to jail on Thursday afternoon, the OC of Wazirpur PS confirmed.
According to the case lodged with police station said the victim alleged that her sister admitted at the clinic on August 11 for throat and mouth infection. Since then the clinic owner annoyed her several times over mobile phone giving obscene proposals.
He called her to come his room at night for discussing about treatment of the admitted patient.
Early August 16 night when she went at the room of the doctor cum clinic owner Rezaul, he tried to molest her and attempted to rape.
After creating hue and cry of the victim, he managed to flee away, the victim alleged.
On August 19 night the victim coming to the police station lodged the case and police arrested him on early Thursday, August 20, 2020, the OC added.
Dr. Manowar Hossain, civil surgeon, Barishal said, owner of the clinic Rezaul Islam was a fraud and a fake doctor. He has no license of medical practice from BMDC and his clinic was illegal. We requested administration and law enforcing agencies several times to take action against him. But using political connection, he managed to avoid legal action.
Dr. AKM Shamsuddin, former upazila health officer, who retired seven months ago, also acknowledging the facts, said we submitted report against medical practice by fake doctor Rezaul and his illegal clinic three times.
But he managing local political persons created pressure to prevent legal action against him and his illegal clinic, former upazila health officer added.
