RAB-4 has arrested a fraudster named Rubel Mia for demanding money by assuring him of various opportunities including party posts, nominations and jobs as the Assistant Private Secretary to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
RAB-4 arrested Rubel Mia from Betila area of ManikganjSadarUpazila on Friday morning on the basis of a complaint lodged by Farida Yasmin, a resident of Sadar Police Station.
Rubel Mia alias Shaon, 38, a resident of Basantapur village in Lechhraganj union of Harirampurupazila of Manikganj, introduced the Prime Minister’s APS-2.
On May 14, Rubel Mia demanded Rs 55,000 from Farida Yasmin, a resident of Gangadharpatti area in Manikganj, for a project worth Tk 21 lakh to provide various items to the disabled. When her words were suspected, Farida Yasmin filed a general diary (GD) with the Sadar police station.
Introducing the Prime Minister’s APS-2 GaziHafizur Rahman, Rubel Mia demanded television on his mobile phone from Arifgram, the convener of Navgram Union Juba League. Similarly, she demanded Rs 52,000 from Selina Akhter, leader of the District Youth Women’s League. Meanwhile, on May 14, Rubel Mia called Arifur Rahman, a convener of Nabgram Union Juba League in SadarUpazila, on his mobile phone. Later, when the matter became suspicious, he informed RAB-4.
According to a press release issued by RAB-4 Manikganj office, Rubel Mia has been providing relief to various people by introducing APS-2 of the Prime Minister in Manikganj for a few days now. Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) UnuMong, company commander of RAB-4 Manikganj office, said Rubel Mia had confessed to cheating during preliminary interrogation. Legal action will be taken against him.
