Faisal Ahmed of Bangladesh emerged champion in the men’s 19-kilometre competition of the 73rd World Long Distance Swimming Championship held in West Bengal’s Bhagirathi River in Murshidabad district on Sunday.
Another Bangladeshi swimmer Polash Chowdhury finished 2nd in the event while Monirul Islam of Bangladesh also placed 2nd in the men’s 81-kilometre swimming.
In the women’s 19-km swimming, Nazma Khatun of Bangladeshi became 3rd.
