The 8th ULAB Fair Play Cup Inter-Private University Cricket tournament begins today (Thursday) at Ramchandrapur, Mohammadpur in the city.
A total of 16 universities including BRAC University, North South University, East West University, Northern University Bangladesh, United International University, State University of Bangladesh, Manarat International University, Independent University Bangladesh, University of Asia pacific, South East University, Eastern University, Green University of Bangladesh, Premier University of Chittagong, University of Information Technology and Sciences, European University of Bangladesh and host University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh are taking part in the meet.
A total of 32 matches, split into four groups, will compete in the meet that will be held in T20 format. Champion and runner-up team of each group will move to knockout super eight round.
The four winning teams of super league will play in the semifinals that will be held on February 9 and 10 while the final is slated on February 11. The champions team will receive Taka 40,000.00 while the runners-up have Taka 25,000.00 as prize money.
In this regards a press conference was held today at the Bangladesh Olympic Association conference room to give all the details of the meet.
Professor Imran Rahman, vice chancellor of ULAB, Roquibul Hassan, formal captain of Bangladesh national cricket team and advisor of ULAB fair play cup and Lt. Col. (retd) Foyzul Islam, registrar of ULAB were present at the press conference.
