Launching ceremony of noted singer Fahmida Nabi’s voice grooming school, Karigori’s 11 students’ album titled Karigori was held at a restaurant in the city’s Bailey Road area on June 12. Despite having incessant rains the programme was held with the presence of the singers which impressed Fahmida Nabi.
Noted news presenter Shamim Ara Munni, Raz Azim, Kamrunnahar Putul, Ramzanul kader Billah, Brishti Mawla, Farzana Kamal, Pilu, Fawzia Sultana, Rubna Tamrin Anonnya, Fahmida Ahmed and Shamim Afroze Shima rendered these songs under the music composition by Sajib Das. In the album, Fahmida Nabi herself gave voice for a song titled Chokher Karnishey. To encourage her students, Fahmida gave her voice for the song.
Fahmida Nabi informed that she has been planning to release the album from 2008. After nine years, her dream came into true.
While sharing her feelings in this regard Fahmida said, “It is really joyful matter for me which I cannot express in a word only. Moreover, I can say that I have completed a big task to keep my promise. I have presented my songs to the listeners by my students. By this album they started a new journey in their career in the field of music. When the listeners will enjoy these songs my effort becomes successful. I am hopeful and very much optimistic about this album.”
It is noted that Karigori has been presented by Fahmida Nabi’s own production house, Anmol Presents. Wahid Ahmed, Mohsin Mehedi, Ripon Chowdhury, Tareq Ananda, Ramzanul Kader Billah, Suhrid Sufian, Partho Rahman, Pranti, Ronzu Reza and Shamim Afroze Shima wrote lyrics of the songs of this album.
