Bangladesh’s youngest Fide Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman, who emerged unbeaten champion in 14th Dubai Juniors Chess Tournament, returned home Thursday noon from Dubai.General Secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation (BCS) Syed Shahabuddin Shamim received him with bouquet at Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport in Dhaka. BCS joint secretary Masudur Rahman Mallick Dipu was also present in the airport to greet him.The 13-year-old Bangladesh’s promising and talented chess player Fahad received US Dollar 2,000 (US dollars two thousand) after clinching the title in Sheikh Mahtoum Bin Hamdan Al Maktoum Cup.He also awarded the champion trophy and a gold medal, securing eight points from nine matches that concluded at the Dubai Chess and Culture Club on Tuesday.Tournament’s 3rd seed Farad clinched the most coveted junior (under-14) chess title beating Al Hosani Omran of the UAE in the 9th and last round match.Tournament’s 2nd Rahul Srivatshav of India finished runner-up securing seven points from nine matches.
