The popular social network Facebook will be reopened very soon, said State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Thursday.
“We’ve contacted the Facebook headquarters …hope, we’ll be able to reopen it within a short time,” he said.
The junior minister came up with the disclosure while speaking at a press briefing on the first-ever national debate on ICT at the Jatiya Press Club.
Asked when exactly the ban will go, Palak said, “I can’t tell you any specific time, but I can tell you we’ll unblock Facebook soon.” On November 18, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (BTRC) suspended the operation of Facebook, Messenger, Viber and WhatsApp in the country in a bid to ensure public safety.
