Mainstreaming of the intellectually retarded and autistic children is possible through turning them into human resources by taking proper care and extending supports to flourish their inherent talents.
The opinion came yesterday at the launching ceremony of ‘Khutamara Buddhi Protibondhi O Autism Biddyalaya’ with 385 intellectually retarded and autistic children under Khutamara union of Jaldhaka upazila in Nilphamari.
Society for Welfare of the Intellectually Disabled (SWID) in Bangladesh extended assistance in establishing the school for educating the intellectually retarded and autistic children of the area to make them able and worthy citizens.
Chairman of Nilphamari Zila Parisahd Joynal Abedin attended the ceremony and inaugurated the school as the chief guest with Chairman of Khutamara union parisahd Abu Sayeed Shamim in the chair.
