Posts, Telecommunications and ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar on Wednesday said exporting Internet of Things (IoT) devices to Saudi Arabia is a historical achievement for Bangladesh.
“These devices would be used in resolving water supply crisis in the holy city of Mecca. The whole world is now trying to take part in the digital industrial revolution being led by Bangladesh,” he said.
The minister said these while addressing a function at Kaliakoir, Gazipur, on the occasion of exporting IoT devices made by local tech farm Datasoft Manufacturing and Assembling Corporation.
“The government is giving utmost priority to the export of ICT service or goods. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is establishing 28 hi-tech parks across Bangladesh. Several reputed international brands like Samsung are establishing their factories in Bangladesh. Our software companies are operating in different countries and exporting software to more than 80 countries,” Jabbar added.
ICT Division Secretary Zuena Aziz, Managing Director of Bangladesh Hi-tech Park Authority Hosne Ara Begum, Managing Director of Dhaka Wasa Taqsem A Khan, BASIS president Almas Kabir and Datasoft Manufacturing chairman Hasan Ratan were present on the occasion, among others.
