India’s daily Covid figures hit a new high on Thursday with 3,79,257 fresh cases and 3,645 deaths reported in 24 hours. The caseload surged to 1.83cr while more than 2.04 lakh people have died so far. The spike has overwhelmed hospitals all over the country.

The government of Bangladesh has closed the Bangladesh-India border for 14 days to prevent corona infection. But Export, import activities resumed on Tuesday (April 27) at Hili land port of Dinajpur district with health guidance. Hili land port Public Relations Officer, Sohrab Hossain confirmed the matter.

In this regard, Sohrab Hossain said, “Trade between the two countries through the land port resumed early on Tuesday by ensuring all health guidelines.

“Disinfectants are being sprayed twice at the time of the entry of Indian cargo trucks at the border and port. At the same time, the drivers and helpers are being allowed to enter the port by sanitization and measurement of the body temperature. In addition, disinfectants sprayed and body temperature measurements are being taken at the time of entry of Bangladeshi trucks into the port, Sohrab added.

However, passenger movement between the two countries has been closed since March last year through the Hili immigration check post.
