President Abdul Hamid , trade and investment potentials , Turkish ambassador , Turkish ambassador to Bangladesh Mustafa Osman Turan , credential President Abdul Hamid on Thursday called upon Turkish ambassador to Bangladesh Mustafa Osman Turan to explore trade and investment potentials between the two countries. The President came up with the call when the Ambassador presented his credential to him at Bangabhaban.
President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin briefed the reporters after the programme. Welcoming the Turkish Ambassador at the Bangabhaban , President Hamid hoped that the bilateral relation with Turkey will further be expanded during his assignment here.
Describing the existing excellent bilateral relation between Bangladesh and Turkey as historic and very ancient, he mentioned that there many similarities in culture between the two countries.
“The existing bilateral relation between the countries would be strengthened gradually,” he said.
Referring to the Rohingya problem in Bangladesh, the President expressed his gratitude to the Turkish government to provide support in this regard.
President Hamid also invited Turkish President to attend the upcoming D-8 summit scheduled to be held in Dhaka.
Saying Turkey always gives priority to the bilateral relation with Bangladesh, the ambassador said he would take all necessary steps to enhance trade and investment between Bangladesh and Turkey in the days to come.
Earlier, on their arrival at the Bangabhaban, a smartly turned-out contingent of the horse-mounted President Guard Regiment (PGR) gave the envoy guards of honour.
