Speakers at a roundtable discussion on Tuesday suggested using quality and standard ATM machines with adequate safety measures in place to check fraud at the outdoor booths.
They also called for introducing latest technology-based EMV microchip cards at ATM Machines.
The suggestions were made at the discussion titled: “ATM Banking: IT and Consumers Safety” organized by Media Institute for Skill Development (MISD) at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU).
The experts said if any incident of fraud takes place, it should be immediately notified to all banks through inter-bank network.
Making a keynote presentation on the issue, IT expert Dr. Mahbub Ali said although the reported fraudulent incidents are not frequent in Bangladesh, the country has been experiencing shortage of skilled manpower in this sector.
