An expelled leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Rajshahi University Unit allegedly threatened an employee of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall of the university recently.
The victim Hatem Ali, a security guard of Bangabandhu Hall recently registered a complaint to the hall authority.
Despite giving the security to Hatem Ali, hall authority on Sunday transferred him to steward department of the university, confirmed hall provost Professor SM Jahid.
The BCL leader was identified as Mustakim Billah who was earlier expelled from the post of environment affairs secretary of RU unit for his alleged involvement in an attack at the department of Islamic History on May 13 during examination as a BCL leader could not participate in the exam for sickness.
Few days ago, Billah aksed Hatem Ali to go to his room at Bangabandhu hall for unknown reasons.
As Hatem Ali did not go to his room, Billah threatened him with life within 24 hours.
Feeling insecurity, Hatem Ali recently registered a complaint to the hall provost but hall provost decided to transfer him without giving security.
Earlier, Billah was found brandishing fire to the general students who were observing sit-in in front of the university administrative building on the campus in protest at the hiked fees under different heads by the university authorities.
Billah refused the allegation of giving life threat to Hatem Ali and said he made aware Hetem Ali as he has connection to Jamaat-Shibir.
On contacted, BCL RU unit president Mizanur Rahman said he was not aware of the incident and said he will look into the matter.
