Hundreds of Bangladeshi expatriates, who work in Middle Eastern countries, continue to flock to Biman Bangladesh Airlines offices in search of air tickets.
Bangladeshi expatriates, who returned home in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, are making frantic moves to get air tickets for joining works as many Middle Eastern countries have eased travel bans.
But as there is no flight, the authorities are not giving them tickets or provide any information about when the tickets will available. The office of Expatriate Welfare and Manpower Export says it is imperative to provide the necessary guidelines to expatriates, including an immediate increase in flights to the Middle East otherwise, there will be chaos that may occur.
On Monday, hundreds of expatriates thronged to the Bangladesh Biman’s Motijheel office in Dhaka in the hope of getting tickets.
Many of them have return tickets for various destinations in the Middle East. Many could not go to work abroad within the stipulated time as they could not get tickets.
Monir Hossain, an UAE- expatriate, said he was supposed to fly by August 14, but he cannot fly due to lack of air ticket.
