Dr Mujibur Rahman, who earned enormous popularity in the community of Bangladeshi expatriates in Canada for his services and charitable works, died of old-age complications at a Winnipeg hospital in that country on Thursday at the age of 82.
He is survived by wife, four sons and daughters, well wishers and a host of admirers.
Delwar Zahid, President of Bangladesh Press Club Centre of Alberta (BPCA) and one of the executives of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad, Canada Unit Command, expressed profound shock at the death of Rahman.
