Information Minister and Publicity secretary of Awami league Dr. Hasan Mahmud emphasized the need of expanding Chattogram metro areas including Bhatiary, Kalurghat .
He said some important areas are out of the metropolitan area and it is most essential to include these area under metro areas. He disclosed it whle addressing the concluding session of Chattogram Trade Fair at World Trade centre in the city on Friday .
The minister said about 100 economic zones are being developed including Mirsarai, Sitakunda in Chattogram .
He also emphaises the expansion of existing airport and new airport at Hathazari for handling the inllux of tourists of home and abroad . Asstt. High commissioner of India Mr. Aninda Banerjee was present on the occasion.
The President of Chattogram Chamber,Mabhubul Alam said the role of World trade centre is very much important for a commercial capital.
He said sighting of commercial capital is very near as the Karnapuli tunnel, Bangabandhu Shilpanagar,LNG terminal , economic hub are under process and expectedto be completed very soon .
