Power and Mineral Resources Ministry has ordered exemplary punishment to Managing Director of Padma Oil Co Ltd Abul Khair and other officials of the public sector oil marketing company .
Deputy Secretary of the Ministery Syeda Nowara Jahan in a letter asked the Chairman of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation to take disciplinary departmental actions against the Managing Director and other involved officials of the company. POCL sources said the Managing Director incurred huge loss to the govt by regularizing the temporary and contractual workers of about 88 during November and December 2009 with own discretion without following the employment rules of the govt public sector companies.
On the other hand Anti corruption commission, Chittagong has asked the BPC for departmental actions against the accused officials on February 16 last. ACC sources said these allegations against irregularities of appointing the temporary workers proved undoubtedly and asked the BPC for departmental actions, sources said.
