Leaders of Bangladesh Awami Jubo League (JL) at a discussion on the occasion of the National Mourning Day here have demanded immediate bringing back of the absconding killers of Bangabandhu and their execution.
Rangpur District unit of JL organised the discussion at Town Hall auditorium in the city yesterday in observance of the 40th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Earlier, leaders and activists of JL hoisted national flag at half- mast and black flag, placed floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu.
They also organised milad mahfil and offered special munaja seeking divine blessings for departed souls of Bangabandhu and other assassinated members of his family after the discussion. Hundreds of leaders and activists of JL, Awami League (AL) and its associate organisations took part in the programmes.
Joint General Secretary of district AL Majedul Islam Babul attended the discussion as the chief guest with Convener of Rangpur district unit of Jubo League HM Rashedunnabi Jewell in the chair. Joint General Secretary of district Awami League Shahinur Rahman Sohel, its Organising Secretary Motahar Hossain Mandal Mowla and Office Secretary Tauhidur Rahman Tutul, addressed the discussion as special guests.
