bdnews24.com :A former Union Parishad member along with two of his relatives have been abducted from Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila, police say.Sub-Inspector Md Yusuf of Eidgarh police outpost said the three were kidnapped from the Eidgaodala area on Friday morning. One of them, Abu Sayed, is a former UP member of the Naikhyangchhari’s Baishari Union Parishad.Identities of the others could not be ascertained yet but police say the three are relatives. SI Yusuf said Sayed and several others were driving home with a relative who underwent treatment at the Chittagong Medical College and Hospital.”Kidnappers blocked the Eidgao-Baishari Road with a log and left after abducting Sayed and two others,” he said. They did not abduct the ambulance driver and the patient, who informed police of the incident.The kidnappers are yet to demand ransom. Locals say robbery, abductions and mugging are quite frequent at the spot.
