Police yesterday recovered the body of a former union parishad chairman from Baroipara village under Chatkhil upazila of the district yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Moslemuddin Faruq, 55, a former chairman of Pasgaon Union Parishad of the upazila and a resident of Baroipara village.
Salma Akhter Bithi, wife of Moslemuddin, said Moslem went out at 10 pm and back at 11 pm at home last night. “I did not see Moslem at his room in the
morning. Later, I found his body behind our house,” Bithi added.
Officer-in-Charge of Chatkhil Thana Md Johirul Anowar confirmed the incident of death. The body was sent to Noakhali General Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
