Chittagong Bureau :
Former chairman of Jorarganj Union Parisad of Mirsarai Upazila was killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in front of Chhinki Astana rail station in the upazila yesterday morning.
The deceased was identified as Enayet Ullah alias Sab Mia, 50, hailed from Chhinki Astana area.
Zorarganj Thana sub-inspector Humayun Kabir told that a rashly-driven truck ran over him while crossing the highway around 10:30am, leaving him injured critically.Later, Enayet Ullah succumbed to his injuries on the way to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH), he added.Police seized the truck though the driver and helper managed to flee the spot, he added.
