Ex-State Minister Anwarul Kabir dies of Covid-19

Former state minister for Finance and Planning Major General (Retd) Anwarul Kabir Talukder died of coronavirus infection on Sunday. The state minister of the BNP led alliance government Anwarul Kabir Talukder died at Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka Sunday afternoon.
His death was confirmed by his cousin and Head of the Department of Epidemiology at National Cancer Research Institute Dr Mohammad Habibullah Talukder.
Dr Mohammad Habibullah Talukder said Anwarul Kabir Talukder died at the CMH in Dhaka at about 2:25pm. He was undergoing treatment after being infected with coronavirus.
He also sought blessings of all for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
Nephew of BNP’s former secretary general Barrister Abdus Salam Talukder, Anwarul Kabir Talukder was elected Member of Parliament in 2001 receiving nomination from BNP. He served as the state minister for Finance and Planning at the beginning of the BNP led Alliance Government. Later, he served as the state minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources.
Later, Anwarul Kabir Talukder joined Liberal Democratic Party leaving BNP. He had been inactive in politics recently.
