Former Director of Institute of Statistical Research and Training (ISRT) of Dhaka University (DU) Professor Khadiza Khatun died of old-age complications at a city hospital on Monday.
She was 70.
She is survived by a son, two daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn her death.
DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique expressed profound shock at the death of Prof Khadiza khatun.
In a message of condolence, the VC recalled the contribution of Khadiza in academic and research fields, adding that “Prof Khadiza was a sincere and dedicated researcher of the university.”
Her contribution in the academic and research fields will remain alive as she discharged her duty with sincerity and cordiality, he added.
The VC also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
