Police recovered the body of former president of Jatiya Chhatra Samaj, student wing of Jatiya Party, from Eastern Housing area at Mirpur in the city on Sunday.
Being informed by locals, a team of police of Rupnagar police station recovered the body of Sayed Mizanur Rahman Himo, 36, from a plot of K Block of Eastern Housing at around 9:30 am.
Himo had been residing in a flat at Lal Mohon Street of Wari along with his 1st wife Labanya. His 2nd wife Moli has been living in the USA.
Police said, he died due to strangulation. Contacted, Assistant Commissioner
(Pallabi Zone) of DMP Jakir Hossain, said the reason behind the killing could not be ascertained immediately but it is suspected that he was killed following family feud.
The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy in the afternoon.
