Staff Reporter :One of the organizers of the country’s Liberation War and a former member of Parliament Abdur Rouf, 81, died at LabAid Hospital in the city on Thursday.He was under treatment at the LabAid Hospital for various old-age complications, family sources said.The deceased left behind his wife, four sons and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.Rouf was the Chairman of the Southwestern Zonal Council during the Liberation War. He enteredpolitics in 1964 and actively participated in different movements.He was elected a member of Parliament from Kushtia-2 constituency in 1970, 1973 and 1991.After the Namaz-e-Janaza in Kushtia on Friday, Rouf was laid to eternal rest at the family graveyard there.
