Ali Reza Razu, ex-president of Jessore district Awami League, died at United Hospital in the city on Friday. He was 70.
Razu, who had been suffering from kidney ailments and pneumonia, breathed his last at 12:49 pm at the United Hospital, hospital sources said.
A former parliament member from Jessore-3 constituency, Razu left behind his wife, two sons and three daughters as well as a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death, the family sources said.
The first Namaz-e-Janaza of Razu will be held at South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban at 11 am today, the sources said, adding his body will be later taken to Jessore by a helicopter.
His second Janaza will be held at Jessore Eidgah after Zohr prayers today and he will be buried at his family graveyard in Jessore town.
