Court Correspondent :A Dhaka court yesterday (Sunday) granted bail to Abdul Mannan Khan, former State Minister for Housing and Public Works, in a graft case filed by the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).Magistrate Emdadul Haque of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order after hearing on a bail petition submitted on behalf of Abdul Mannan. Earlier, he surrendered to the court in the case filed for concealing the information about his property worth Tk 75 lakh 59 thousand. The court granted the bail to him till October 13 on a bond of Tk 50 thousand.Earlier on Thursday, the ACC lodged a case against Mannan Khan, former State Minister, and Abdur Rahman Bodi, Awami League MP from Cox’s Bazar-4 constituency, on the charge of amassing wealth illegally and concealing information about their wealth.The case statement against Mannan Khan says that did not submit necessary documents in support of his income for Tk 75 lakh. According to the income tax returns and other data, Abdul Mannan has movable properties worth Tk 96.89 lakh.But as per his wealth statement submitted to the anti-graft body on March 9, he owned movable property worth Tk 92.30 lakh.
