Anti-corruption Commission probe team now in the field to investigate the allegations raised over purchasing of land for Premier University in the city.
The probe team headed by Deputy Director of ACC Mizbahuddin interrogated the former mayor and city AL President ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury on Tuesday and the immediate past Mayor Manzoor Alam was supposed to appear before the ACC team yesterday but Manzoor Alam did not turned the office of ACC here .
Acc office sources said, Manzoor neither appeared before the ACC Team nor any statement about it sent to them.
While contacted former Mayor Manzoor Alam told this reporter that he did not get any letter from ACC office or no body connected him about the presence before the ACC team .
The ACC team went to Premier University on Tuesday and reviewed the official papers relating to purchase of land for PU and later quizzed the former Mayor Mohiuddin Chowdhury and VC of the university Dr. Anupam Sen.
Mentionable that Chittagong city corporation runs the Premier University as such Mayor was the chairman of Trusty Board of the PU and former Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhry is a member of the trusty board.
A reliable sources said sensing the arrival of ACC probe team , former Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury turned down to the residence of ex-Mayor Manzoor Alam in the city and wait for some time there for discussion over the matter.
