Ex-IGP Ismail passes away

Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Ismail Hossain died on Thursday at the age of 76. He was laid to rest at the Banani Graveyard in the evening. He was suffering from
cardiac and kidney diseases.
His first Namaz-e-Janaza was held in the Shaheed Siru Miah Auditorium of Razarbagh Police Lines on Thursday noon.
IGP AKM Shahidul Hoque, Additional IGP Dr Md Jabed Patwari, Additional IGP Sheikh Himayet Hossain, Additional IGP Md Mokhlesur Rahman, senior police officials, friends and family members of the deceased joined the prayers, among others.
His second Namaz-e-Janaza was held at Banani DOHS Mosque. Former Advisor to the Caretaker Government Barrister Mainul Hosein, former Secretary Mofazzal Karim, former Assistant General Manager of Bangladesh Shilpa Rin Sangstha (now Bangladesh Development Bank Limited) Alimullah Khan, former Managing Director of Janata Bank Mohammad Hashem, friends and family members of the deceased joined the prayers, among others.
The former IGP left behind two daughters, host of relatives and well wishers to mourn his death. Ismail joined Pakistan Police Service as an Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1966. He served as IGP during 1997-98.
