The police in Hariankundu upazila of the district arrested an ex- husband Thandu Mia for his alleged involvement in killing his wife Nipa Khatun, 35. The deceased was identified as the daughter of Foyez Uddin of Harinakundu municipal area.
Harinakundu police station officer in charge (OC) Mahatab Uddin said Nipa was married to Thandu Mia of the same area a few years back. An incident of divorce was happened following family feud, while quarrel was a regular feature among the two families.
Following the quarrel, Foyez in the night of Friday strangulated Nipa to dead in the house of Nipa.
The police recovered the body and sent to Jhenaidah Sadar hospital morue for post mortem examination. The killer ex husband was arrested immediate after the incident, the police said.
