The Senior Special Judge’s Court of Dhaka yesterday granted permanent bail to former Director General of the Directorate General of Health Service (DGHS) Abul Kalam Azad in a graft case.
Judge KM Emrul Kayesh of the court passed the order after hearing the bail petition filed by Azad’s counsel.
Julfiker Ali, an official of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), confirmed the media about the matter.
On September 29, last year, the Investigation Officer of the case Farid Ahmed Patowari, Deputy
Director of ACC submitted the charge sheet of the case in the court against Azad and five others.
Five other accused people are namely Regent Hospital Chairman Shahed Karim, former Director (Hospitals and Clinics) Dr Aminul Hasan, Deputy Director (Hospital-1) Dr Md Younus Ali, Assistant Director (Hospital-1) Dr Md Shafiur Rahman and Research Officer Dr Md Didarul Islam.
