Ex-Chief Justice Mahmudul Amin no more

Former Chief Justice of Bangladesh Mahmudul Amin Choudhury is no more. He died on Sunday evening at his Dhanmondi residence in the city.
He was 82 and was suffering from old-age
complications. He left behind two daughters, one son and many well-wishers to mourn his death.
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain visited the residence of the deceased last night and expressed deep shock at his death, said Md Saifur Rahman, Special Officer of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.
The officer said, his first Namaz-e-Janaza will be held at Dhanmondi after Fazr prayer and another on the Supreme Court premises at 10.30 am. Then his body will be taken to Sylhet and will be buried there after some rituals
He was the 11th Chief Justice of Bangladesh and served the post from March 1, 2001 to June 17, 2002.
He was born on June 18, 1937 in Sylhet district. He completed his Matriculation from Sylhet Government Pilot High School and did his graduation from Sylhet MC College. Then he got admitted into Dhaka City Law College for his LLB degree.
He started his professional life as an advocate in the Sylhet District Judge Court and was sworn as the judge of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court in 1987 and elevated to the Appellate Division in 1999. He took oath as the 11th Chief Justice of the country on March 1, 2001.
