Shahbagh police in association with the DR proctorial team held Mehedi Hasan,35, at Salimulla Muslim Hall on Tuesday midnight.
DU proctor Prof AKM Golam Rabbani said, “We received allegation against Mehedi that he used to come to the dormitory for taking alcohol. He did not pay heed to us despite we warned him several times.”
Being informed by the hall administration, police rushed to the scene and found Mehedi taking liquor. They then held Mehedi. Shahbagh police ASI Masud Rana confirmed the matter.
