A court here on Wednesday sent a former official of Janata Bank to jail on charge of harassing a minor girl sexually at Natunhat Sardar Para in the district town.
Assistant police super (circle) Ashok Kumar Pal said a court sent Abdul Mannan, 61, former principle officer of the Mangalbari branch of Janata Bank, to jail in the morning after interrogation following his arrest on the day before. Officer-in-charge of Sadar police station Farid Hossain said a couple had been living at Mannan’s Natunhat Sardar Para house on rent for four months. On April 18, Mannan called the four-year-old girl to his bedroom and touched her private parts and also attempted to have sex with her.
