A Dhaka court on Friday ordered to send Humayun Sultan, son of former Jessore-5 Constituency lawmaker Khan Tipu Sultan to jail on Friday a day after he was held for his alleged involvement in the murder of his wife.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Erfan Ullah passed the order and fixed Sunday for a hearing on 10-day remand prayer.
Earlier Mehzabin, wife of Humayun, was reportedly brought to the Dhanmondi Central Hospital in an unconscious condition on Thursday afternoon where doctors declared her dead.Police detained Humayun
for interrogation on the same day and later he was shown as arrested. Former MP Khan Tipu Sultan and his wife Jesmin Ara Begum were also made accused in the case filed by Nurul Islam, father of the twenty-four-year-old deceased.
The family of ex-MP claimed that it was a suicide while the family of the deceased claimed that the girl was murdered.
